Description

The winery Franco Pacenti stands at the foot of the hill of Montalcino, on the north-eastern side, in the basin of Canalicchio, historical area, counted among the most suitable of the denomination. Founded in the 60s by his father Rosildo, it is family-run by Franco Pacenti and his children Lisa, Serena and Lorenzo, third generation of the family. 10 hectars of vineyards of Sangiovese grape, the only variety cultivated, from which Rosso di Montalcino DOC, Rosso di Montalcino DOC Gemma, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva are produced. Wines which are elegant and powerful at the same time, result of the perfect combination of traditional knowledge and modern technologies, expression of territory and the people who grow it. Extravirgin olive oil and Grappa di Brunello are also produced. Availability of winetours and tastings, paired with tuscan cold cuts and cheeses, and, upon reservation, typical tuscan lunch, respecting the short supply chain.

How to get

From north (Florence) Take the A1 motorway southbound, exit at the Impruneta after Florence and merge onto the Florence-Siena motorway. After reaching Siena, exit at Siena south, merge into the (Cassia) SR2 and follow the signs for Montalcino. Proceed up to Buonconvento; after passing the town at the end of the straight road, turn right for Montalcino, entering the SP45 provinical road of Brunello. After about 7 km, turn right following the sign for SC (municipal road) Canalicchio, keeping on the left ascent. You're there! From south (Rome) Take the A1 motorway heading north, exit at Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, continue following the directions for San Quirico d'Orcia on SP40. Having reached San Quirico, continue to Buonconvento by entering the (Cassia) SR2, take the exit for Montalcino, and continue for 9 km. Arriving at the roundabout take the first exit towards Siena on the SP45 provinical road of Brunello. After about 2.5 km turn left following the sign for SC (municipal road) Canalicchio, keeping on the left ascent. You're there! From west (Grosseto) From Grosseto take the SS223 provincial road Cipressino towards Siena, exit at the junction for Paganico and continue towards Montalcino for about 10 km. After passing the hamlet of Borgo Santa Rita, turn left for Sant'Angelo Scalo towards Montalcino, entering the SP14. Having reached the town of Montalcino, continue towards Siena in the SP45 provinical road of Brunello and after 6 km turn left following the sign for SC (municipal road) Canalicchio, keeping on the left ascent.
