Marchesi Gondi - Tenuta Bossi
The Marchesi Gondi - Tenuta Bossi, owned by the Gondi family since 1592. Located in the Chianti Rufina, a wine growing area famous since the Etruscan era. This area was included in the Bando dei Vini published in 1716 by Cosimo III de 'Medici. Marie de Labrugiére widowed, with 2 children, she moved to the Tenuta Bossi where she made major extension works. She was one of the first female entrepreneurs, she distinguished herself in the wine sector for her innovative and avant-garde ideas by introducing French know-how into the company. Her son Carlo, participated in the first Expo, Paris 1889, when the Tour Eifell was built, where she won a whole series of prizes in this competition. They were among the forerunners of the agritourism business, transforming part of the farmhouses into finely maintained apartments. (7 apartments with swimming pools for a total of 46 beds). The Marquis Bernardo Gondi and his sister Donatella assisted by Bernardo's children: Gerardo and Lapo continue the family tradition trying to maintain what their ancestors have always done. The grapes, grown with respect for the environment and harvested by hand, with particular care, are vinified in cellar
To reach the Marchesi Gondi - Tenuta Bossi, exit the Autostrada del Sole A1 at Firenze sud, continue to the end of the ring road and turn right at the traffic lights. Continue on the SS67 via Aretina up to the towns of Sieci (about 14 km). At the roundabout at the end of the village, turn left, pass under the railway and continue for about 4 km following the signs, until you reach Tenuta Bossi, where you will be greeted by the company staff.
