Madrevite

Madrevite islocated in the North- West of Umbria, in the “Trasimeno” DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin). This is a borderland between Umbria and Tuscany, lying on a promontory on the western shore of Lake Trasimeno: a zone delimited by the ridge of hills that begins facing Cortona and winds for 25 km southwards until Chiusi, separating the Valdichiana valley from the Lake Trasimeno valley and skirting Montepulciano and Chiusi Lakes too. Madrevite was born in 2003, when Nicola begins to restore the family business and decides to replant part of the old vineyards of his grandfather Zino, dating back to 1978. The protagonists of this new adventure are Gamay del Trasimeno (one of the most important grapes of Umbria from the family of Cannonau family, Tocai Rosso, French Grenache and Spanish Garnacha), Syrah, Trebbiano Spoletino, Grechetto and Sangiovese: all vinified in purity to reveal the intrinsic qualities of the grape and make you feel the complexity of the territory. Also, the farm produces extra virgin olive oil, Fagiolina del Trasimeno (Slow Food Presidium), Chickpea and Black Chickpea.
