Movimento Turismo del Vino Friuli Venezia Giulia at Vinitaly 2011

Movimento Turismo del Vino Friuli Venezia Giulia will attend at Vinitaly from 7 to 11 April 2011 at the institutional area of the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia in the Hall n° 6.
The most important exhibition of wines and distillate will be the perfect stage for the preview of Cantine Aperte/Open Cellars, the most important event of the wine tourism, which every year the last weekend of May in Friuli Venezia Giulia counts an attendance of about 200,000 persons.
The 2011 edition of Open Cellars will be graced by more than 100 wineries throughout the region, from Azzano Decimo (PN) to San Dorligo della Valle (TS), and also from Buttrio (UD), to Capriva del Friuli (GO) and so on in order to cover many areas of vineyards and winemakers deserve to be explored for their specialties and uniqueness.
In order to present wineries and places, it has been created a Map with a new and original layout - a really author poster, whose leitmotif is All that the Friuli Venezia Giulia can offer as peculiarities and recognizability of this area. Following Nievo definition of 'small compendium of the Universe', our region can boast of nature, art, culture and local products that make itself a deposit to safeguard and improve!
Following always our natural propensity to the quality, is also born a new collaboration between the Movimento Turismo del Vino Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Smithy and Cutleries Museum of Maniago (PN), which will host the exhibition 'Corkscrew / Gjavastrops three centuries of genius, art and design in the international and local collections' starting from the day of Cantine Aperte, Saturday 28 May and up 8 September 2011. Not everyone knows that as many as 50% of the corkscrew in the world comes precisely from Maniago, where it feeds the art of blacksmith artisans. The collaboration also allows those who come to the exhibition with a copy of the map of Cantine Aperte have free access!
Great news and synergies also in terms of tourism for the event of Cantine Aperte on 28 and 29 May 2011: not only organized tours for wine lovers who provide to arrive by traditional means, but also tourist proposals dedicated to campers. Launched this year, in fact, the project in collaboration with the Winecamper Proloco Capriva del Friuli, which manages the equipped camper area in the region, and for which were planned attractive holiday packages with visits to wineries and activities to discover the heritage of regional food and wine.
This year at Cantine Aperte the privileged access to the wine tasting in the over 100 cellars is made thanks to the glass 'Open Cellars & Unicef', whose proceeds will go towards charity project 'Emergency in Japan - for the children of Japan', implemented by the World children's rights, and to which all participants at the event can contribute.
