Cantine Aperte 2015 in Umbria is “See What You Drink and Drink What You See”: drinking responsibly and wine tourism as a lifestyle

30/05/2015 Many are the initiatives set for the weekend of May 30-31 in the 48 Movimento Turismo del Vino member wineries in Umbria in line with the Expo 2015 theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. In collaboration with the Instagramers Italia Community, the “See What You Drink and Drink What You See” photo contest is still on, from March 22 to July 22, to take pictures of the essence of wine

The historical Open Cellars slogan “See What You Drink” has now become “See What You Drink and Drink What You See”, to launch an awareness of wine right in the territories where it is produced with a new way to welcome guests to the wineries.

For the 2015 edition of Open Cellars, which, for the first time, will take place over two days, Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31, Movimento Turismo del Vino Umbria will welcome all to visit the 48 participating wineries to learn more about and explore wine, its people, passion, dedication and flavours. Surely a fun and interesting way to appreciate even more the many winemaking productions of the region, which has two DOCG wines (Torgiano Rosso Riserva and Montefalco Sagrantino, thirteen DOC wines and six IGT wines.

Naturally, this edition cannot go without a link to the great theme of Expo 2015 dedicated to food production, Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, with initiatives that valorize the role of wine as a typical product that is deeply rooted in the culture and tradition of all countries in every part of the world, but also as food with great nutritional properties that has great economic influence on local communities.

For the sake of public interest and wine lovers, we remind you that Open Cellars is a registered and protected trademark of Movimento Turismo del Vino, in contrast to some misuses and imitations of the brand, to guarantee to consumers the quality and professionalism in welcoming guests which are distinguishing features of MTV wineries. For this reason, we encourage visitors to Open Cellars to recognize true Open Cellars members and to be wary of those that are not associates of Movimento Turismo del Vino as the quality of hospitality cannot be guaranteed.

Movimento Turismo del Vino ALWAYS recommends verifying the dates and times of Cantine Aperte-Open Cellars 2015!
