Tourism: Boom of Foreigners Lodging at Agriturismo, B&Bs and Camp Sites (+19%), Stays in Hotels Drop. Italian Overnight Stays Drop in All Structures

06/07/2015 What is saving Italian tourism is the boom of foreigners who are choosing to stay in non-hotel structures giving rise to a 19.4% increase in arrivals and 16.7% in overnight stays. This is what has emerged from a study by Coldiretti on Istat data related to client activity in Italian accommodation structures in the first trimester of 2015

The overnight stays of Italians is decreasing in terms of arrivals and overnight stays both in hotels and in non-hotel structures while foreigners have increased in both types of accommodation, but with a clear increase in non-hotel accommodation such as agriturismo, private lodging, hostels, bed and breakfasts, and camp sites. A trend that seems to be confirmed even in the second trimester of the year coinciding with the opening of Expo.
