From the VINO Pavilion – A Taste of Italy at Expo at Milan Darsena, from Vinitaly and the City Expo Edition of Verona to the wineries, main squares and town centres from north to south all over the country, wine glasses will be raised in toast to the Perseid meteor shower with Unione Astrofili Italiani telescopes. Tastings on the beach or in Cortina d’Ampezzo shelters, shows, exhibitions, evening openings of historical buildings and museums, eco Jeep tours in vineyards, and cinema under the stars are only some of the activities set for the 2015 edition of the event.

On August 8 in Veneto, the event climbs up to the summit of the Dolomites for high-altitude tastings. For those who prefer hilltops, Umbria opens the doors of ten MTV wineries and nine Città del Vino throughout the territory on August 10. If you prefer raising your glasses at the seaside, hop over to Levanto in Liguria (August 10) or in Friuli Venezia Giulia in Grado (August 6-8). In the Friuli territory, even Aquileia (August 8-9) provides the setting for Calici di Stelle. Double events even in Puglia, which features Bari on August 5 and Copertino on August 10 this year. There will be opera arias, dance shows, sensorial games and a guided tour through underground Bari with archaeologists. In Basilicata, art, culture , food and wine join forces at the event in the centre of Matera, Cultural Capital in 2019. Tuscany is set to host happy hours, exhibitions, bike tours and cinema forums alongside tastings, cellar tours and dinners in the vineyards. MTV Lombardy will set a tasting table in the cloister of the former monastery in Astino (BG) for the exhibition by Luigi Veronelli, “Camminare la Terra”. Wishes and wines under the starry skies of August await visitors to Sicily (August 7-9), Calabria (August 4-10), Lazio (August 8 and 12), Emilia Romagna (August 8), Sardegna (August 7), and Campania (August 10), as well as Abruzzo at the touristic port of Marina di Pescara (August 10).

One of the top 2015 events is the VINO Pavilion – A Taste of Italy from August 4 to 10, thanks to the partnership with Vinitaly-Veronafiere: a trip for every EXPO visitor to discover the best in MTV Italian wines during seven evening events on the terrace (from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Sala Symposium. Entrance to the Pavilion is free. MTV Tasting, including wine glass and pouch, €10). In partnership with the Fiera di Verona, Calici di Stella is set to open from August 6 to 9 even at Vinitaly and the City Expo Edition (#VinitalyandTheCity | #ExpoEdition), for four exclusive evening tasting events put on by Movimento Turismo Vino (Verona – Palazzo della Gran Guardia from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. €3.50 to taste one wine, €10 for three, EXPO wine glass free). Keep your eyes on the skies from Milan Darsena when it becomes an open-air wine shop where wines from Italian regions represented at the World’s Fair can be tasted every day from 7 p.m. to midnight for €15.

Theme of all MTV and Città del Vino events, the three #suonodabere soundtracks created by music designer, Paolo Scarpellini ( “The Most Famous Italian Songs in the World”, “Wine in Song”, and “Wine in Opera”: these are the titles that were chosen to celebrate melodies and wines that are made in Italy on the occasion of the World’s Fair that feature pop music, singer-songwriters, Italian operas without forgetting the national anthem.
