A charming lagoon in Venice captured inside a glass of white wine; a toast to the skies with the “notte bianca” festivities of Modena in the background filled with wine lovers; wine meets sea and hills in the Marche at Focara; a beautiful glimpse of vineyards at Ramandolo in Friuli Venezia Giulia in shades of green and blue; the majestic mountains reflected in a fresh glass of white wine. These are the five winning photographs of the Movimento Turismo Vino photo contest on Instagram announced today as Calici di Stelle comes to a close (August 4-10 all over Italy).

The #bevicosavedi (drink what you see) snapshot challenge – promoted in collaboration with the Instagramers Italia community – created with the objective to award the best pictures that succeed in recounting Italian wine and the beauty of Italy with its landscapes, monuments, squares, vineyards and cellars.

Over 2,300 photographs were entered in the contest, which started last March 22 and ended July 22. Declaring the winners was the jury made up of ex-president of MTV Italy, Daniela Mastroberardino (President of the Jury), President of Instagramers Italia, Ilaria Barbotti, photographers, Fabio Sardella, Andrea Federici, Antonio and Roberto Tartaglione, and co-founder of the cultural association Twitteratura and President of the Fondazione Cesare Pavese, Pierluigi Vaccaneo.

For Daniela Mastroberardino, “We created the contest on Instagram since today, more than ever, we are immersed in an era of sharing pictures. Wine is one of those passions that unites a wide range of people, very different from each other in their history, culture and attitudes, so much so that it has almost become a universal language. From here, the desire to ask people to speak about, through this Esperanto of the people, all the values that make wine great, among the best and most qualified ambassadors of Made-in-Italy in the world.”

The first prize received a voucher for two to stay at one of the Movimento Turismo Vino member wineries.
