Open Cellars at Harvest Time 2015 Campania: a rare occasion to experience festive harvest rituals amid old traditions and breathtaking landscapes

26/09/2015 Festivities set for Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27

On Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27, Movimento Turismo del Vino Campania welcomes wine lovers to experience the festive rite of the harvest in the vineyards. From Irpinia to Vesuvio, through to Sannio in Benevento and the metropolis estates of Naples, it is time for the harvest, and Movimento Turismo del Vino celebrates the ancient farming ritual with two open days for wine tourists.

The participating wineries invite you to experience the festive side of the harvest: a day in the vineyards in the open air, immersed in the warm colours of summer’s end as well as tours of wineries in old barrel cellars to new vinification technologies. And then there are the tastings, country lunches and snacks in the vineyards.

An ideal time to rediscover the old traditions and the countryside, whose beauty is from another time, in a “silent” and “respectful” way. The vineyards, which turn red and yellow in the last days of sunshine, invite whomever desires to discover their essence, their irresistible quiet and vitality during an especially meaningful moment as this one that falls before the harvest.

With “Open Cellars at Harvest Time”, MTV Campania wishes to share with wine lovers the oldest farming ritual, the most anticipated moment and most important moment for us winemakers. It is a day of celebration, but also an opportunity to get to know the enchanting world of wine up close and to meet the producers and winemakers in action.
