Movimento Turismo Vino: Sunday, November 15 glasses are raised all over Italy to toast the new agricultural year with “Open Cellars for San Martino”

From the Rapulè grape-picking race in Piedmont to the “Hands in Pasta” children’s cooking class in Veneto; from MTV Marche’s #SelfiediSanMartino to the barrel tasting in Sicily, to pruning lessons in Lombardy. But also novello wine, chestnuts, music, art exhibits, tastings and pairings with pastries and typical products from Friuli Venezia Giulia to Lazio, from Umbria to Campania, from Abruzzo to Molise.

Open Cellars for San Martino is set for On November 14 and 15: an occasion to toast the new farming year with producers honouring the tradition that celebrates the harvest held in the past on November 11. In the Marche, Friuli Venezia Giulia, and Campania regions, it starts on Saturday the 14th, while in the rest of Italy, the MTV wineries will open their doors to wine lovers, young people, and families on Sunday the 15th to taste new wines as well as the fermenting must, paired with seasonal delicacies, bringing back the old tradition of Saint Martin’s Day. There will also be the “At Table with the Winemaker” events in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Molise, and Piedmont in addition to activities for little ones in Emilia Romagna, Umbria, and Lombardy.

Open Cellars for San Martino will also feature a cork-collecting initiative for the environment in partnership with the promotional campaign by IntercorkII* to make people aware of the sustainable use of this 100% natural and recyclable product.
