Benvenuta Vendemmia: celebrating the wine harvest in the vineyards

30/08/2009 In September the member wineries of the Wine Tourism Movement celebrate Benevenuta Vendemmia, an invitation to all wine tourists to spend a Sunday in their vineyards taking part in the grape harvest.

 In September  the member wineries of the Wine Tourism Movement celebrate Benevenuta Vendemmia, an invitation to all wine tourists to spend a Sunday in their vineyards taking part in the grape harvest.
The “Harvest Sunday”, which may differ in the various wine regions of the country, is considered the most important moment of the wine production.

After the last year success WELCOME HARVEST, is going to be an appointment that those ones who love italian oenological culture cannot miss.
It's a unique occasion for breathing the warm atmosphere that characterizes the harvest, where hopes, hard work and love for own country become concrete in vintage.

Chiara Lungarotti, national President of Wine Tourism Movement, puts over "Even Welcome Harvest", as all the other events promoted by Wine Tourism Movement is under the saying "See what you drink". The task is always that one of offering to the winetourist the highest quality, guaranteed by offered wines and welcome in winery". And just to assure the welcome in winery, from 2008 has begun hospitality services quality certification of Wine Tourism Movement members, in accordance with Hospitality code of Ethics.

Even though it's still early, the latest forecast bear out that the 2009 harvest will have productive turnovers bigger of 5% than last year. An increase due to goods atmospheric conditions which renewed the hopes of vintage, thanks to big hot recorded in May and the following pouring rain. Good are also the expectations about product quality.

Generally speaking, after having considered the differences of local customs related to territory and vineyard's peculiarity, each Country Association of this Movement will celebrate Welcome Harvest in a different September Sunday.
