10/03/2014 The big international event set for March 16-20 in Savelletri di Fasano (Br) will see Puglia meet a prestigious group of international buyers

The fifth edition of the “Puglia Wine and Land” event, an important international appointment set for March 16-20 in Savelletri di Fasano (Br), will see Puglia meet a prestigious group of international buyers from China, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Malta, Holland, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden and the United States with the goal of learning about winemaking in Puglia and of creating a business synergy with the producers.
The success of the previous editions, which established numerous business contracts after meeting during the workshops, shines the international spotlight once again on Puglia, its wines and its specialties.

“This fifth edition of the event,” affirms Sebastiano de Corato, President of the Consortium, “intends to consolidate the renowned winemaking of Puglia in the five continents, giving visibility to the regional winemaking territories and creating business opportunities for the wineries in the Consortium. Our wines, in fact, are true ambassadors of Made-in-Puglia on international markets, valued for the character that they express and the excellent price-quality ratio, which sets them apart. We are especially proud of this event,” continues de Corato, “because it has the ability to bring key people directly to the territory to promote and make wine from Puglia known all over the world and a selection of journalists. In this way the ‘product of wine’ can be contextualized within the setting where it was born, which is not only one of professionalism and of the producers’ competence, but also of the culture, traditions and history which characterize this region.”

Wine & Land is not only about marketing, but it is also about the territory. As guests of the Municipality of Fasano, ten international journalists will be taken on an educational tour bringing them to meet producers, visit wineries, taste local products, discover new things, characteristics and potential of the region, encountering its beauty, fragrances and flavors of some of the most typical places in Puglia. Attending are the following journalists: Charlotte Van Zummeren (Holland), Philippe Kampe (USA), Marta Wrze?niewska (Poland), Dwight Casimere (USA), Petri Pellinen (Finland), Michael Ritter (Germany), Timé Diericx (Belgium), Maria Pranzo (Hong Kong), Rod Phillips (Canada), Michael Liebert (Germany).

The very detailed and well-organized program aims at satisfying the expectations of all the guests. The hosting facilities of the event are also high end: Masseria Torre Coccaro and Masseria Torre Maizza.

Greeted at a welcoming event during which the territory and the event schedule will be presented, the participants will then participate in different programs in the days that follow. For the buyers, there will be a short educational tour as an introduction to the countryside and the productive situation in the area, then they will take part in the B2B workshop in the following days with representatives from the participating wineries.

At the same time, the ten guest journalists will have an exclusive press pass for the cellars, town centers and the rural countryside where they will discover the wine tourism areas of Puglia and evaluate the high standards of hospitality in the wineries from Daunia to Salento passing through Messapia.
