ProWein 2014: Puglia present in D


This year’s ProWein features the remarkable participation of cellars from Puglia with a good 43 wineries present inside the Puglia exhibition area. An increasingly visible fair internationally, ProWein attracts more and more buyers, operators in the sector and international press from all over the world, making it an occasion not to be missed to promote top quality enology from Puglia reinforcing its own presence on the German market and taking the opportunity to meet those coming from foreign markets.
This year’s edition, in fact, shows exceptional participation of cellars from Puglia with 43 wineries in the exhibition area reserved for the Department of Food and Agricultural Resources of the Puglia Region and the Unioncamere (Union of Italian Chambers of Commerce) Puglia in Pavilion 3.

“The performance in terms of exports and affirmation on the market of our wines is improving,” states Fabrizio Nardoni of the Department of Food and Agricultural Resources of the Puglia Region, “a sign of how the quality, professionalism and also the sales network, marketing and distribution of this sector has matured, which is constantly being developed, thanks to the policies and the economic support which the Puglia Region has ensured over these years. This fair, with its growing regard and credibility, hosts some of our best labels but also highlights, if ever there were a need to, the capabilities of the Puglia system of teamwork in the wine sector. A virtue which we will have to make a standard and strengthen in view of the upcoming planning for European and national funding.”

The collaboration of DESA (Deutschland Sommelier Association) has been confirmed and, with Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia, there will be a “wineshop” within the Puglia Region stand animated with tastings of Made-in-Puglia labels guided by expert sommeliers. It will be a place to get information about regional winemaking and wine tourism as well as to learn about the territory and its wines.
Another prestigious showcase for wines from Puglia will be the three wine tastings respectively featuring Nero di Troia and Primitivo, White and Rosé wines, and Negroamaro with details about the winemaking territories in Puglia lead by three leading experts as follows:
