Rome and Milan Celebrate Wines from Puglia: “Puglia Top Wine Road Show®” is back in October and November

06/10/2014 Starting October 6 and continuing for one month, food and wine specialties from the heel of Italy are the stars of the show at exclusive tastings, events and sensory experiences

From Monday, October 6 to Sunday, November 9, the “Puglia Top Wine Road Show®” makes a pit stop once again in Rome and Milan on the must-see “city tour” for the taste buds featuring the top in wine and food from Puglia in a rich calendar of events throughout the month.

Twenty-seven of the most renowned wine shops in Rome and Milan provide the venue for the event and will showcase the wines, host exclusive tastings as well as special workshops to celebrate the wonderful food and wine from the heel of the Boot.

The Roadshow is organized by Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia, leading the way in promoting the Puglia wine trade and culture.

And it’s also thanks to these initiatives that we are more and more successful in presenting our enchanting territory, so rich and multifaceted, and its heritage of excellent wines, which, day after day, reveal their great potential. Among the reasons for this success,” continues de Corato, “surely the contribution of the Consortium, now widely known both in Italy and abroad for its fundamental role as a catalyst to diffuse wine culture and wine tourism.”

The “Puglia Top Wine Road Show®” will take place in fifteen wine shops in Rome, selected by Athenæum, at the same time as in twelve wine shops in Milan, selected by “Eventi d’Autore”. Each one will offer the chance to taste wines and extra-virgin olive oil selected by MTV Puglia and will participate in special events and happy hours that are exclusively “Made in Puglia”.

Eight of these wine shops (four in Rome and four in Milan) will host workshops on the great regional varieties, Negroamaro, Nero di Troia, and Primitivo, in addition to their rosé wines, the rising star of Apulian wine. Some of the top national wine journalists will lead these workshops.

The workshops will take the participants on an interesting quest to discover the territory, its producers and the thousand expressions of local grapes, capable of producing wines that are ever more appreciated and requested on both national and foreign markets. The tastings, which will also feature extra-virgin olive oil and other Apulian delicacies, will be open to the public and free of charge, although reservations are necessary (for further information, see calendar below).

The “Puglia Top Wine Road Show®” will conclude in Rome on November 10 with a prestigious tasting and seminar by the Italian Sommelier Foundation, Bibenda.it, at the Rome Cavalieri Hotel, 101 Via A. Cadlolo.
