Food and wine tourism, top satisfaction for visitors to Italy. Movimento Turismo Vino among the benchmarks. A word from Carlo Cambi

26/02/2015 The reason? The quality of the products and the countryside, the lifestyle in rural areas, a widespread legacy of art

The Italian vineyard is a unique legacy uniting a very high quality of wines with landscapes of absolute prestige. At least half of our UNESCO World Heritage Sites – Italy holds the record on the list – feature rural territories and, recently, the winemaking areas of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato have been added to this “list of wonders”.

Food and wine tourism gives the most satisfaction to those who travel in Italy and our wines and our dishes are the second top attraction in Italy. One tour operator out of three offers tasting tours and there are more than six million tourists who come to Italy for this reason with an ever-increasing turnover. The reason? The quality of the products and the countryside, the lifestyle in rural areas, a widespread legacy of art.

Carlo Cambi’s warning: not to sites that market food and wine packages. There are three sure-things: the wineries, Movimento Turismo del Vino and the Strade del Vino offerings.
