CANTINE APERTE 2011 IN PUGLIA WITH THE "SEGNAVINO"("WINEMARK")

It will take place in more than 50 wineries from Daunia to Salento the thirteenth edition of 'Cantine Aperte' in Puglia, the important event dedicated to wine and its lands in program throughout Italy on Sunday, May 29th from 10am until the evening.

The event opens the 2011 calendar of the Movimento Turismo del Vino and is one of the main attractions for the increasingly large population of wine lovers. 'Cantine Aperte is a different day than usual - says Vittoria Cisonno, President of the Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia - to spend with friends or family by visiting wineries for free, walking among the vineyards, tasting wines with an inviting mix of taste, culture, fun. 

'For experienced enthusiasts there will be hundreds of labels to taste, from historic vintages to the latest news on the market, with workshops and short courses led by winemakers and sommeliers. 

For neophytes, however, Cantine Aperte represents the beginning of a journey to discover the variety and characteristics of Negroamaro, Primitivo, Nero di Troia and the many white and rosé that, in a region traditionally linked to the Reds, are showing a growing appreciation. Along with the wine, many pairing proposals with local products and dishes, picnic in the yard, performances of popular music, vintage car rallies and art exhibitions.

NEWS of 2011 the initiative 'Il Segnavino'('The Winemark'), which comes from a partnership with APE - Puglian Publishers Association. The theme will be 'wine and culture' and will be attended by some authors of books edited by publishing houses associated with the APE in the 'Cantine Aperte'. 

In one particular moment of the day the author, accompanied by the winegrowers-'landlord', will meet wine lovers and will read some excerpts of his book, of course accompanied by a good glass of wine.And for wine lovers who choose Puglia the association, in cooperation with local tour operators, offers tour packages with overnight accommodation in 'masserie' and some of the most charming B & B in Puglia. 

Moreover, after the great success of last year, the partnership with the local APT is confirmed, starting with wine bus from the most central areas of the respective cities. Finally, for fans of cycling, routes among wine and nature of the different provinces.

The preview presentation of the event will be held at the Feltrinelli in Bari on Wednesday, May 18 at 18:30.
