Calici di Stelle night in Umbria - the 4,5 th and the 10th of August

THE CELLARS that will open the doors in the most romantic night of the year represent all the territories of the regional wine PRODUCTION. On the 10th OF AUGUST, the night of S. Lorenzo, will take place events aimed at discovering the great richness of the region ... and the stars in summer time, while in the squares of the most important Wine Cities of the Region there will be happenings , guided tastings and celebrations under the aegis of the City of Wine ( Città del Vino association) . The event organized by the Movimento Turismo del Vino and Città del Vino has reached its 21st edition, with the important collaboration in Umbria of the Coordination of Wine and Oil Roads.
GLASSES OF STARS 2018 - "With the eyes to the sky"
The theme on which the next edition of Calici di Stelle will be focused will be "the observation of celestial bodies and its connected phenomena". In fact, thanks also to the absence of the moonlight, this period of the year will be particularly favourable to the observation of the meteors there will be, thus, greater possibility to admire the weaker light trails and the natural phenomenon, particularly suggestive, of falling stars . Moreover, four planets will keep us company on the beautiful nights of August: the planet Venus, the brightest: Spica, the brightest star in the constellation of the Virgin; Jupiter, in the constellation of Libra; the red Antares, the "heart" of Scorpio; in the Sagittarius we find Saturn (with the telescopes we can admire the wonderful rings); finally, in the South-East, Mars, in Capricorn (Source: Unione Italiana Astrofili).

There will be 4 Cities of Wine of Umbria who will celebrate the event : 

- Ficulle ( the 4th and the 5th of August) 
- Torgiano, Montefalco and Castel Viscardo ( on the 10th of August)
