Description

The Franchini family lands extend over a territory of about 9 hectares (of which 4 are used as vineyard) at an average of 280/ 400 meters above sea level. About four hectares are located in the area "Terre di Forlago" and they possess a high concentration of calcareous clay white ground, powdery and very porous, while another hectare is located in the Monte Marognin. It has a concentration of dark earth with a substantial presence of white stones, with just under half a meter of ground which allows an optimum distribution of rainwater. This hectare is also characterized by a very steep slope (known as the "heroic vine" or the "extreme"). The historic house was built by Giuliano’s predecessors around 1430 and the details of the winery are in Roman style with a "Romanesque façade", made of typical local stones and lime. In the ancient Court of Forlago, there is also an old "ice-house" built in the Romanic era, and there is a threshing floor called "sèlese" for the drying of cereals.
