Cantine Colomba Bianca
On a distant day of Spring 1970, the founding members Gaetano Taschetta, Giuseppe Chirco and Ignazio Oliveri saw a white dove lying on the vineyard they were visiting in the countryside of Trapani. A premonitory sign that gave rise to the name of a cooperative, destined to become a model for Sicilian viticulture and enology. The territory of Colomba Bianca reflects a kaleidoscope of wine that contains an ampelographic heritage composed of thirty-four indigenous and international varieties. 6328 ha of vineyards concentrated mostly in the countryside of Trapani, the most vineyards in Europe, with six wineries located in close proximity, each of which is destined to a specialized production. In particular, most of the vineyards of the winery fall in the Salemi countryside, a territory rich in culture and tradition, historically dedicated to quality wine production.
