Published "Wine Tourism 4.0 - Wine Tourism Observatory: the evolution of digital, the most comprehensive manual on wine tourism in Italy," a focus on the wine tourism sector with particular attention to the impact of digital technologies. The manual is the broadest and most documented analysis of Italian wine destinations - cities and wineries - that have been investigated by Nomisma Wine Monitor on a substantial sample of 145 municipalities and 265 companies. In addition to capturing the evolution of a sector that is establishing itself as strategic for all Italian tourism, the categories in which the wineries are already now registering 15 million visits each year and on average derive 7% of their wine business from wine tourism are defined: small family-oriented winery (39%), winery of historical, architectural or artistic significance (14%), famous brand/historical mark (12%), winery of landscape or naturalistic relevance (11%), winery organized for incoming tourism (11%) and winery with an innovative offering (11%). Beyond the statistical data and commentary on the dynamics of the sector, Wine Tourism 4.0 is structured in sections that aim to serve as manuals for the tourist offices of the Wine Cities and for wineries open to the public.
The focus of Donatella Cinelli Colombini - author of the volume with Dario Stefàno, father of the wine tourism law - is on the meaning and functioning of the wine club and the advantages of a coordinated use of social networks and technology to expand the followers who represent the main user base, as well as for proprietary e-commerce. A set of valuable guidelines for those who wish to expand their business vision from those who experiment in the field with new developments in wine hospitality. The creation of the book was also contributed to by the National Associazione Città del Vino, the Associazione Donne del Vino, the Movimento Turismo del Vino, and Nomisma Wine Monitor.
